200,000 march in Washington for climate justice: Our favorite protest signs
On April 29, hundreds of thousands of people poured into streets around the world to march against Donald Trump’s dangerous climate denial agenda and for immediate action to solve the climate crisis. Thousands of CREDO members were there proudly standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our allies in the climate justice movement.
As the Earth experiences another “hottest year on record” and the highest levels of CO2 in the atmosphere in 3 million years, the Trump administration continues in full climate denial mode, removing all climate science information from the EPA’s website while his fossil fuel cabinet continues to dismantle environmental regulations that will wreak havoc on the planet.
In Washington, D.C., where temperatures fittingly hit near-record highs, CREDO members joined 200,000 marchers. Activists marched and spoke out against Trump’s exploitation of public lands and waters for fossil fuel drilling and his attacks on the environment, clean air and water, and indigenous people already feeling the effects of climate change.
We caught up with some of our members and other activists and would like to share some of the best moments and signs we saw at the People’s Climate March in Washington, D.C.
CREDO also livestreamed the DC march on our Facebook page, which you can view here.
