Who we’re funding in June
Every month CREDO gives you the opportunity to vote to distribute our donations. Here’s how it works. We select three progressive nonprofits and commit to donating a portion of our monthly revenue to them based on your votes.
For June we’ve selected three amazing organizations: Friends of the Earth and Stand.earth—both are vital partners in our fight for climate justice—and Project Vote, whose voter registration efforts will be critical to progressive success in 2016. We are excited to support them this month and we hope that you are, too.
Friends of the Earth
Friends of the Earth (FOE) is uncompromising in its quest for a healthier and more just world. FOE is an outspoken leader in the environmental community, speaking truth to power and recognizing that the steps we need to take aren’t necessarily the politically easy ones.
Your support this month will help some of its most important campaigns, specifically the “Keep It in the Ground” campaign, which seeks a moratorium on the leasing of public lands for fossil fuel extraction.
Project Vote
Voting is fundamental to the health of our country, and Project Vote is singularly focused on protecting and expanding that right. Its mission is to “build an electorate that accurately represents the diversity of this nation’s citizenry, and to ensure that every eligible citizen can register, vote and cast a ballot that counts.”
As we head toward this fall’s elections, your support will enable Project Vote to conduct strong, effective voter registration programs in this pivotal election year. You will help Project Vote continue fighting for more just and equitable democratic systems.
Stand.earth
Stand.earth (formerly ForestEthics) strives to create a world where people and the environment come first. Throughout its history, the organization has helped protect 65 million acres of wilderness and shift “billions of dollars of corporate purchasing toward responsible options.”
Your support this month will help build Stand.earth’s grassroots organizing on a critical campaign to prevent further damage caused to our communities by oil trains. Spills from these mile-and-a-half-long trains have reached epidemic proportions, creating untold environmental damage. Action on this issue is critical right now.
Remember, your vote determines how we’ll distribute vital funding to these groups. Show your support for one, two or all three by voting before June 30.
